When the $20 billion dollar rosy picture comes to a close: The new ‘sneak peek’ offers a glimpse into the future
Shoppers at Neiman Marcus in New York City are being offered a glimpse at what the future holds for the world’s largest retailer.
The $20 million discount offer was offered at the New York store to coincide with the end of the Black Friday sale and is designed to “help the community feel optimistic about the future,” according to the website.
The discount is available for the following categories: shoes, apparel, accessories, home, jewelry, home furnishings, electronics, and beauty products.
It is valid for residents of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Puerto Rico and will run through December 31, 2020.
To make the offer, shoppers can head to the NeimanMarcus website and enter their email address, phone number and an emoji for a chance to win a $20 gift card or a pair of sneakers.
To be eligible, shoppers must be a US resident.
It is not yet clear what exactly is being offered, but some analysts have speculated that the offer is designed in response to recent increases in interest in sneakers among shoppers.
A spokeswoman for NeimanMarcuses told The Associated Press that the store will offer “a few” items that will not be discounted, but that she could not provide specifics.
“We are going to offer something different to help people feel hopeful about the world, and I think that’s part of the reason we are offering this discount,” the spokeswoman said.
But many shoppers have complained about being left out.
“I’m like, ‘This is ridiculous,'” said Anna, a 20-year-old college student from St. Louis, Missouri.
“I’ve seen these shoe deals for years and it never seems to happen.
Why are people going to get these shoes, and why is it so hard to get the money back?”
“It makes me feel like I’m getting a discount, not a discount,” said Elizabeth, who asked that her last name not be used.
“When I go to NeimanMart, I always have to go through the checkout and put my credit card number on it.
Why do people have to put their credit card numbers on it?
It makes me want to complain to the store.”
We have been investing heavily in online marketing and social media to help customers connect with our stores and brands and we are also investing in our stores to ensure they are available for purchase online,” he said.
