What it’s like to be a truck driver in China’s booming tractor supply chain
The tractor is the one piece of equipment most people know the names of, and it’s the one that drives a tractor.
In China, a tractor has a range of about 30 miles and can haul about 300,000 tons of cargo.
This is the first year that the country has allowed the country’s government to ban tractor sales, making it the world’s largest country to do so.
It’s a trend that has been building for years.
As China’s economy grew, so did the demand for tractors, with more than 2 billion tons of tractor-based products sold in 2017.
While the market for tractor-driven goods is growing fast, the tractor has also grown to become the countrys top export product.
According to a 2017 report by the China Automotive Industry Association, the average price of a tractor-drive vehicle in China was $7,852, compared to $1,637 in 2017, with prices continuing to increase.
“The tractor is still a niche product,” says Mark Ochsner, vice president of product development for General Dynamics Land Systems.
“It’s very expensive.
It can’t compete with other kinds of vehicles.”
Och sner, a former General Dynamics product manager, says the company wants to make a tractor that will appeal to consumers who are looking for a more environmentally-friendly option, like an SUV.
That means making the drivetrain as low-cost as possible and adding a battery for the batteries, a technology that’s becoming increasingly popular in the U.S. and China.
Ochner says GM’s goal is to make it as affordable as possible.
“That’s what we’re trying to do here,” he says.
“We’re trying, as we’re doing in the United States, to make the tractor as low cost as possible.”
The problem is that the tractor isn’t the only vehicle being exported to China.
China is also a huge exporter of trucks, which have become a key part of its economy.
That’s also driving the growth in tractor demand, Och says.
The number of tractor sales in China increased by 50 percent in 2016, and now the country is importing more tractor-related products than ever before.
“This is the second year in a row that China has allowed tractor sales,” says Och.
“There’s been a lot of good things happening with tractor sales.”
Oechsner says the Chinese government has set strict restrictions on how much tractor-driving equipment can be sold, but he believes that’s just the start.
“I think they’re starting to take it a little more seriously than they have,” he said.
O chsner notes that General Dynamics is now building a brand new truck to compete with the Chinese market.
The company expects to start producing the new T-72 tank by 2019.
